AMETEK appointments focus on customer service

AMETEK Specialty Metal Products (SMP) has announced a series of key appointments, with the goal to recruit people who share its commitment to industry-leading customer service. 

Matthew Houston has been announced the new divisional vice president of operations at SMP, and will be based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Houston will be the divisional mentor for the implementation of Lean-Six Sigma tools to drive continuous improvement at all SMP locations. He has plenty of experience working at metal companies, including the management of multiple facilities, and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Nevada Reno, as well as a Master of Business Administration degree from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

In his new role as plant manager of SMP Wallingford, Jim Lampert has overall responsibility for the management of all aspects of the SMP plant in Wallingford, Connecticut, as part of the Division’s Leadership Team. Lampert recently worked as the operations manager, overseeing the plant production since 2013. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration – Management, and an MBA degree in Strategic Management from Sacred Heart University.

As the new plant manager for Hamilton Precision Metals, Casimir Koshinski will oversee all operational activities at Hamilton’s Lancaster, Pennsylvania facility. Koshinski will ensure worker safety, compliance with environmental regulations, and the continuous improvement of all operations through lean initiatives and individual employee development. With an extensive background in the metals industry, he joins Hamilton from Leonhardt Manufacturing, a contractor of tubular metal products. Koshinski holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgical Engineering/Materials Science from Carnegie Mellon.

Michael Marucci has been announced VP of sales and marketing of Powders for SMP, where he will responsible for establishing the strategy, execution and implementation of all sales and marketing activities related to titanium master alloys, titanium powders, and water and gas atomized powders. Marucci has held positions of increasing responsibility in R&D and Quality with GKN Hoeganaes and rose to become commercial and strategy VP at GKN Hoeganaes in New Jersey, leading its global powder business. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Engineering and Master of Science degree in Engineering Management, both from Drexel University.
