Alro Steel Acquires Pottinger Steel

Alro Steel acquired Pottinger Steel in Racine, Wisconsin.  Pottinger Steel was founded in 1898 by Robert B. Pottinger as a blacksmith shop and general steel supplier. In 1970, the Pottinger family sold the company to Eugene Rinehart who grew the company to become an established steel service center. Pottinger offers a variety of metals, including carbon steel, alloys, stainless steel, and aluminum, with same-day or next-day delivery in Wisconsin and Illinois. Operations will continue at the current Racine location, 2711 Mt. Pleasant St., under Alro Metals Outlet.
