AK Steel management changes

On May 30, 2014, AK Steel, the American steel company, made public the promotion of several of its executive officers including the appointment of Mr. David C. Horn to executive vice president, chief legal and administrative officer and secretary. He was formerly the company’s executive vice president, general counsel and secretary.

Mr. Horn joined the AK Steel team in 2000 as the assistant general counsel and had previously been a partner in the law firm Frost Brown Todd LL and a member of the firm’s executive committee. In 2001 he was named AK Steel’s vice president and then in 2003 he was elected as the corporate secretary. In 2010, he was named executive vice president, general counsel and secretary. In his new position, Mr. Horn will be responsible for all of the company’s legal, environmental and labor relations along with duties related to human resources.

In addition to Mr. Horn’s new promotion, the other recent management changes include:
*Roger K. Newport named senior vice president, finance and chief financial officer.
*Kirk W. Reich named senior vice president, general counsel and chief compliance officer.
*Joseph C. named vice president, general counsel, corporate and chief compliance officer.
*Renee S. Filiatraut named vice president, litigation, labor and external affairs.
