Corinth Pipeworks Wins Contract in Chile

Anglo American has awarded Corinth Pipeworks a contract for the manufacture and supply of steel pipes for the Los Bronces Pipeline Replacement project in Chile.
The Los Bronces pipeline is located in the Andean Mountains in Chiles, at an average altitude of 3,500m above sea level. The pipes will require very strict geometrical tolerances to ensure uniform flow through the entire length of pipeline.
The contract, which covers pipe for the 35km slurry pipeline, includes the supply of 24-inch LSAW pipes in heavy wall thickness up to 31.75mm and three layer polyethylene coating. The total quantity of steel pipes, which equates to 13,700 tonnes of steel pipes, will be manufactured during 2020 at Corinth’s plant.
