Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister, responsible for FedDev Ontario, has announced an investment of up to CAD$515,000 for Pittsburgh Steel Group.
Pittsburgh Steel Group provides custom structural steel drafting, fabrication, and installation services. With this funding, the Mississauga-based steel group will have the ability to purchase and install leading-edge robotics technology, while adopting new, sophisticated production monitoring software to improve its operations.
Funded through more than CAD$39 million allocated for southern Ontario under the Regional Economic Growth through Innovation (REGI) Steel and Aluminum Initiative, this investment will support the companys growth, and shows Canadas support for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the steel and aluminum sectors that are innovating to succeed and create jobs.
