ADDere now offers 3D printing

ADDere is now offering its services as a 3D printing firm.

The company, which is an Additive Manufacturing (AM) System division of Midwest Engineered Systems (MWES), is leveraging the capabilities lf its laser wire additive system and is now taking on external printing projects in addition to developing and selling its AM machines.

Pete Gratschmayr, VP of Sales and Marketing explained that the company has expanded to provide printing services, while also selling complete AM systems in order to open up this technology to firms that may not have the throughput to make the capital investment, however would like to utilise its capabilities.

The ADDere system offers ability to do large scale, near net-shape metal printing. MWES developed this AM to specialize in printing components made of exotic metals including titanium, duplex stainless steel and other super alloys. However, it can also deposit new metal forms on components made through other processes, like casting, machining or forging. The ability to print with these high-performance alloys will see interest from industries such as aerospace, military, and large equipment manufacturers.
