The second Managing Aging Plants USA Conference & Exhibition, powered by Stainless Steel World Americas, was held this past November 13 and 14, 2018 at the Royal Sonesta Houston Galleria Hotel in Houston Texas, with a total of 530 people registered for the entire event.
The two-day event was a success, and saw principal engineers, materials engineers, corrosion engineers, metallurgists, reliability inspectors, asset integrity managers, and maintenance directors from around the world. These professionals represented industry-leading companies such as BASF, The Chemours Company, Chevron, Chevron Phillips Chemical Company, Ecopetrol America, The Dow Chemical Company, LyondellBasell, Saudi Aramco, and many more.
Visitors had the chance to walk the expo floor and network with any of the 30 knowledgeable exhibitors, as well as take part in the interactive learning workshop Managing Aging Workfoce, which guided the audience through different types of training methodologies required for training a constantly changing workforce.
The conference ran concurrently with the exhibition, and began each day with keynote lectures given by representatives from The Equity Engineering Group, Albermarle Corporation, Midland Engineering, Saudi Aramco, and MRC Global. The conference sessions included many in-depth discussions as a result of the interesting workshop topics including risk-based inspection, asset integrity, non-metallics & fibre-reinforced polymers, and materials & corrosion-resistant alloys.
