Superior Tube strengthens its operational excellence

AMETEK Specialty Metal Products’ Superior Tube has recently announced new key appointments in order to continue developing their operational excellence and customer service.

Superior Tube, which is known for it’s high-quality tubing in stainless steel, nickel, titanium, and zirconium alloys, has announced William Scilingo’s appointment as plant manager at the company’s Collegeville, Pennsylvania facility. With more than 25 years of experience in the metals industry, as well as more than 20 years of experience in the leadership and management roles in the medical, industrial, and automotive markets, Scilingo will be responsible for the plant’s day-to-day management. He will also play a key role on the AMETEK Specialty Products’ leadership team. 

With more than 15 years of experience as operations manager and site leader roles in the metals industry, Eric Lentz has been appointed as operations manager. His duties will include the responsibility for the operations function at Superior Tube in Collegeville.

A new role, manufacturing engineering manager, has been created and assumed by Mark Heuberger. The position will play a key role in further enhancing product quality to better serve existing customers and increase market share. With previous experience at Superior Tube, Heuberger is a materials science and engineering professional, with more than 10 years of experience in metallurgy.

Newly-appointed quality manager, Scott Bussinger, now has the responsibility for all aspects of quality management at Superior Tube. Bussinger has more than 30 years of experience in quality management, including leadership and management roles.

Hassan Raid has assumed the position of Environmental Health and Safety Manager and will be focused on the development of a behavioural-based safety culture. Hassan brings more than 20 years of experience building safety and environmental programs in manufacturing environments to Superior Tube.

Tamer Elbably has assumed the planning supervisor position and will be working to further increase the company’s satisfaction by focusing on the efficiencies of production planning and routing. Tamer is a certified supply chain professional and brings 13 years of experience in sales and operations planning, inventory management, and cost reduction to Superior Tube.

The position of process engineer and metallurgist has been appointed to Brian Gorney, who holds a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Michigan and has years of experience as a metallurgist in quality assurance at various companies.
