Application sensors for your welding needs

AutomationDirect has a wide variety of inductive proximity sensors, but as of recently, its line also carries harsh duty Factor 1 sensors. These sensors are made for both ferrous and non-ferrous metallic object detection, and weld applications.

The KS series Factor 1 proximity sensors are designed with a stainless steel housing, has a correction factor of K=1, and provide a constant sensing range on all ferrous and non-ferrous materials.

The WK (Factor 1) and WS series sensors have a coating, which makes them ideal for welding applications. The PTFE material coating prevents slag build-up, a large cause of sensor failure, and allows weld spatter to be wiped off easily.

The harsh duty sensors come in 8, 12, 18 and 30 mm diameter sizes, and operate on 10 to 30 VDC input voltage. Depending on the series, sensing distances range from 2 mm to 30 mm.

All sensors in each of the series have been cULus-approved, CE complain, and have a lifetime warranty.
