US Steel makes new appointments

United States Steel Corp. has made its first executive moves under David B. Burritt, who was recently named Chief Executive Officer after the departure of Mario Longhi.

Pipasu Soni, who is Vice President (VP) – Finance, has been named interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to replace Burritt, who was CFO before he was promoted. Barry Melnkovic has been named VP and Chief Human Resources Officer, reporting to Burritt.

Two other US Steel executives, Christine Breves and Scott Buckiso, have been promoted. Breves, who had been VP and Chief Supply Officer, has been named Senior VP, Supply Chain and Manufacturing. Buckiso has been promoted to Senior VP – European Solutions.
