Odfjell signs agreement for 2 new chemical tankers

Odfjell, whose US headquarters are located in Texas, has signed a long term charter agreement for two new chemical tankers. The 35,500 dwt tankers will be built by Shin-Kirushima Yard in Japan and will be fitted with 28 stainless steel cargo tanks each.

They are scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2018 and the first quarter of 2019, and the charter agreements run for a minimum of eight years. This agreement is in line with Odfjell’s new strategy for tonnage renewal and fleet growth.
