Illinois-based Greenlee Textron, a Textron Inc. company, has launched the new 628 and 648 Carbide Cutter sets, each with 6 cutter sizes ranging from 7/8-inch to 2-1/2-inch, to better meet the needs of electricians, plumbers and other trade technicians. The complete product family offers 22 sizes ranging from 5/8-inch to 3-inch.
Greenlees Carbide Cutters cut fast, accurate holes in stainless steel, mild steel, iron, copper, brass, aluminum, fiberglass and plastic sheet up to 3/16-inch (4.8 mm) thick. The split-point, cobalt-steel pilot drill eliminates walking and penetrates quickly. Precision engineered, tungsten-carbide teeth allow for fast cutting of round, burr-free holes.
Greenlees carbide design is optimized to reduce friction and torque, requiring less force and generating less heat while cutting. This allows the cutters to last up to five times longer than many competitive cutters. There is a flange stop that helps prevent over-drilling for added safety, and an ejector spring that automatically removes the slug with every cut.
