Kongsberg Maritime has delivered a new closed-circuit television (CCTV) system – used primarily for surveillance and security purposes – for installation on to the US Coast Guard’s (USCG) heavy ice breaker vessel, Polar Star (WAGB-10).
The cameras fitted on the Polar Star are made of stainless steel and equipped to combat harsh weather, as well as adapt to extreme low temperatures. Kongsberg’s CCTV range features an in-house design with modified off-the-shelf (MOTS) video camera stations, telemetry and control components.
The system’s components meet naval specifications to adapt to shock, vibration, electromagnetic interference (EMI), temperature and humidity. It can be deployed in adverse marine environment.
