The new high-end TC142 blind hole taps from Walter Surface Technologies (Walter) are precisely designed for machining stainless steels and ISO M materials. Walter is a manufacturer of high productivity abrasives, power tools, tooling, chemical solutions and environmental solutions for the metal working industry.
Tapping stainless using standard tools can often lead to tool breakage because of the material’s high level of toughness. The TC142 is designed to combat this failure, while increasing tool life and process reliability.
The new blind hole taps come in two versions: WW60RB grade provides for long tool life and high cutting speeds due to its wear-resistant coating, ideal for high-volume production. The second version, WY80FC grade, with a vaporized surface, guarantees a high level of process reliability due to its excellent chip control.
