Alstrom Wind Tower Factory in Brazil turns 1

Exactly one year ago, Alstom inaugurated its first wind tower factory in Latin America, located in the city of Canoas. The unit received about EUR 9.85M in investments and has a production capacity of 120 steel towers a year, which is equivalent to 350MW of power production.

Since then, during a progressive industrial ramp-up, the unit has already delivered 30 towers for projects that will bring power to Brazilians, and has reached a production pace equivalent to 70 towers per year in two shifts. The unit, which has just hired the third shift, currently employs 92 people, and opens up possibilities for new job vacancies in the supply chain that has developed for its implementation.
