The Corpus Christi Army Depot in Texas, USA has purchased three Seco/Warwick vacuum furnaces to preform vacuum heat treatment services for aircraft components.
Seco/Warwick will supply two 2-bar and one 12-bar high pressure cooling high vacuum furnaces equipped with moly/stainless steel hot zones, high vacuum pumping system and electrical controls. This contract also includes installation, start-up and commissioning services.
These high vacuum furnaces are often used for solution heat-treating, annealing, stress relieving, quench hardening, degassing, tampering and homogenizing. The vacuums can be equipped with FineCarb Vacuum carburizing and PreNit high-speed carburizing option.
The materials that are often processed in these types of furnaces are carbon steel, low alloy steels, iron base corrosion resistant steel, nickel and cobalt based alloys and titanium.
