Morrison solar power farm approved

Central Minnesota’s Morrison County has approved a solar farm to be built east of Little Falls. The 10-megawatt project is one of several large-scale solar farms that will be built across Central Minnesota over the next ten years.

Geronimo Energy is helping the Morrison County project, which will operate under the subsidiary Lindy Solar, and will include 300-watt photovaltic panels about 10 feet high. The farm will be 70 acres and just off the Minnesota Highway 27 in Little Falls Township. The company would like construction to begin by as early as 2015 or 2016.

With the general construction of solar farms, stainless steel is used in many different areas from the fixing elements to the cable ties to the entire mounting frame depending on what the budget will allow.
