The global machining company that supplies both the aerospace and automotive industries, has opened its new manufacturing facility in Greer, South Carolina. The 60,000-square-foot plant will add over 29 new jobs over the next few years and cost approximately $14.8 million USD.
Precorp is part of Sandvik’s Machining Solutions Group, which is a high-technology engineering group with almost 47,000 employees worldwide and operations in more than 130 countries. Sandvik focuses on tools and tooling systems for mining and construction among other industries. It also produces products in stainless steel, special alloys, titanium and metallic and ceramic resistance materials.
The new plant has tripled Precorp’s current space and will allow the company to expand services to existing customers. Operations will be fully relocated to the new facility early next year.
“South Carolina’s success in attracting key members of the aerospace and automotive industries led to the continuing growth of our existing operations in Greer, and ultimately our decision to build a new state-of-the-art facility here in Greenville County,” said Rich Garrick, president of Precorp.
