Northeast Georgia gets first stainless steel plant

Georgia-based Industrial Mechanical, which specializes in projects regarding machining, fabrication, mechanical, electrical and HVAC, has recently added a 10,000-square-foot stainless steel fabrication building.

It is the first in the area and was added to the existing 30,000 square-foot steel shop try and attract customers in the pharmaceutical industry, especially Baxter International, which just moved into the area. Because stainless steel is easily contaminated, carbon steel dust can’t even be mixed with a stainless steel weld or the weld will rust, thus why a completely separate shop had to be built.
