A new generation of special high air-tight sealed thread oil tubing and casing BGT2 product with high composite loading performance, which was developed by Baosteel, passed CAL IV grade test and assessment under the ISO 13679 standard. This makes it the first special thread oil tubing and casing manufacturer in China to pass this assessment.
Until now, only a few foreign advanced oil tubing and casing manufacturers passed the assessment and possessed the ability to develop and produce the special thread oil tubing and casing. Since last year, Golden Apple project team for ‘Technical research on the development and use of high grade oil well pipe product for ultra-deep-high temperature-high pressure oil gas well’, comprising different R&D teams from across Baosteel, completed the research and development of Baosteel’s special thread oil tubing and casing product. The BGT2 passed the grade assessment test of Canadian petroleum tubular goods certification authority and the sole domestic certification authority, CNPC Tubular Goods Research Institute, making Baosteel the first manufacturer of the special thread oil tubing and casing who has passed the most strict third-party assessment at home and abroad.
At present, the project team has developed more than ten kinds of specifications of BGT2 products, which have been successfully used for the oil fields at home and abroad.
