Management changes at Royal Nickel

The current President and CEO of Royal Nickel (RNC), Tyler Mitchelson, has announced that he is leaving the company to work at Anglo American Corporation. Despite this change, Mr. Mitchelson will stay on as the Director of RNC.

Mark Selby, who has been the SVP Business Development since 2010, will serve as the interim CEO. He has extensive experience in the industry including over 20 years in finance and corporate development at resource companies such as Inco Limited and Quadra Mining. Along with this experience, Mr. Selby will also be able to look to the company’s Executive Chairman, Scott Hand, and Directors, Peter Gourdie and Peter Jones for their assistance and advice.

Mr. Hand has issued a statement stating, “We thank Tyler for the four years he has led RNC and the significant work he has done to advance the Dumont Nickel Project….the Dumont Nickel Project is a world-class project that will be needed to meet the growing global demand for nickel.” He continued, “As we look forward, our priorities remain unchanged. The two main objectives to be achieved by RNC during 2014 are the arrangement of the financing package for the project and the completion of the permitting process for the project which is already well underway.”
