Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems, the North American company developing and manufacturing safety, energy management, and braking system technologies, appointed Thomas Doll as the vice president, Global Purchasing Excellence. Doll – who joined Bendix in October 2013 – is also a member of the Bendix Leadership Committee.
Doll brings two decades of broad international business experience in global supply chain management in the automotive, heavy truck and steel tube industries. In his new position, he oversees material cost and supplier relationship management. Prior to joining Bendix, he served as chief procurement officer with Benteler Global Procurement, and was based in Paderborn, Germany. A lifelong resident of Michigan, Doll spent three years on the overseas assignment, where he was responsible for the development, implementation and administration of a new Global Purchasing organization, acting on behalf of Benteler’s three business units. He directed procurement for 430 employees in eight major regions, more than 80 plants and 38 countries.
Prior to joining Benteler in 2008, Doll spent 11 years with the Detroit Diesel Corporation, filling a variety of roles, including purchasing manager, director of product purchasing, and director of materials and logistics.
