T.D. Williamson (TDW), supplier of pipeline equipment and services, announced that Bruce Thames has been promoted to the position of Sr. Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Effective 14 March 2012, Thames will be responsible for overseeing completion of strategic TDW initiatives, as well as driving the day-to-day execution of business around the world.
“Bruce’s strong operational and leadership skills are ideally suited for the needs of the business at this point in our evolution,” said TDW President and Chief Executive Officer Bruce Binkley in announcing the promotion.
Thames holds 25 years of experience serving the international oil and gas industry. He has a strong operating background and disciplined approach to management, with particular emphasis on engineering, product development, operations and market development.
“TDW has recently launched a number of initiatives aimed at improving and expanding our product and service offerings to ultimately improve the overall customer experience,” said Thames. “I look forward to seeing those initiatives through to successful completion.”
In 2005, Thames joined TDW as Director of Business Development. He subsequently served as Vice President – North America, and most recently, Vice President – Eastern Hemisphere, during which time he played a vital role in building operational capabilities to better serve customers throughout Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.
A native of Spring, Texas, Thames holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas. He is also a member of the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America and the Pipeliner’s Club of Tulsa. Currently based at the company’s regional headquarters in Nivelles, Belgium, Thames will relocate to the TDW corporate headquarters in Tulsa, Oklahoma, later this year.
