Manitoba nickel mine to restart

Crowflight Minerals will resume operations at its Bucko Lake Mine. The company intends to mine 220,000tns of ore in 2011, with the intention of producing approximately 5 million pounds of nickel. Capital expenditures in 2011 at Bucko Lake Mine are budgeted at USD 15 million. Of that, USD 6 million is for the acquisition of mining equipment and USD 9 million for mine development, backfill plant upgrade, and tailing facility expansion. Mining was suspended in October 2010 in order to introduce underground mining equipment and make adjustments to the operation.
