Lincoln Electric has added the new SAE-300® engine-driven welder to its line of products. The welder is specifically designed for pipeline welding, construction and maintenance applications. The machine features Lincoln’s Dual Continuous Control™ technology, allowing welders to adjust two dials on the control panel for an exact setting of both voltage and current. Users can adjust the arc to a snappy digging arc suitable for root and hot passes on pipe with cellulosic electrodes. They can also adjust the arc to a soft buttery arc for pipe welding with low hydrogen electrodes. Supplying 300 amps of welding power at 60% duty cycle, the SAE-300 has a maximum output of 350 amps. Operator’s can stick weld up to 7/32in electrodes and arc gouge with up to 1/4in carbons. The welder comes equipped with a 32.7HP Perkins® 404D-22 four cylinder water-cooled diesel engine that runs at 1800rpm, ensuring consistent, quiet operation with long life. Standard oil pressure, engine temperature and battery charging gauges allow operators to check vital engine performance indicators and the 60.6ltr fuel tank allows users to work an extended day without having to refuel. The SAE-300 can be used to power tools, grinders and lights via the machine’s 115 volt AC or 230 volt AC duplex receptacles which provide up to 3000 watts of auxiliary power.
