CSPA welcomes negotiations

The Canadian Steel Producers Association (CSPA) welcomed the governments’ commitment to negotiate improved two-way trade between Canada and the U.S.  These negotiations will begin following the Declaration on a Shared Vision for Perimeter Security and Economic Competitiveness, announced 4 February 2011 by Prime Minister Harper and President Obama. As efficient cross-border trade is important to the competitiveness of the Canadian steel industry as well as its industrial customers in both countries, negotiations are encouraged to improve border processes and regulatory cooperation. CSPA consistently promotes the importance of policies that improve business conditions for manufacturers. Consultations between the CSPA and government negotiators on the implementation of the Declaration will commence.
