Suncor Names Odegaard Senior VP

Suncor Energy (Suncor) has appointed Janice Odegaard as senior vice president and general counsel. In her new position, Odegaard will be in charge of all legal and regulatory matters across the company, working closely with Suncor’s Board of Directors on corporate governance matters. Odegaard became a part of the Suncor team in 1995, holding a number of senior positions within the company including vice president, Project Services and most recently, vice president, Corporate Legal and corporate secretary. She serves on the Board of the Legal Education Society of Alberta and is a past president of the Canadian Bar Association’s securities section. Odegaard succeeds Terry Hopwood who is retiring after 22 years with Suncor. Suncor Energy Inc., specializes in oil sands development and upgrading, conventional and offshore oil and gas production, petroleum refining and product marketing.
