Chief operating officer (COO) David T. Seaton will succeed Alan L. Boeckmann as chief executive officer (CEO) of Fluor Corp. Seaton will also become a member of the company’s board of directors and Boeckmann will retire from Fluor but serve on its board as non executive chairman. Seaton joined the Fluor team in 1984 and as senior group president he was responsible for the company’s energy and chemicals, power, and government groups. He was in charge of Fluor’s activities in the Middle East and China and served as managing director of Fluor Arabia Ltd., leading the company’s global sales function. Seaton completed a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina in addition to several advanced management programs at Thunderbird University and the Wharton School of Business. Fluor Corp. is currently formalizing key growth strategies for the next 10 years particularly global prospects including Asia Pacific, Latin America, the Middle East and the former Soviet Union markets. The company designs, constructs, and maintains several challenging and intricate projects. With offices located on six continents, the company provides expertise in engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, operations, maintenance and project management.
