Foster Wheeler appoints Interim CEO

Foster Wheeler AG has appointed Umberto della Sala as Interim Chief Executive Officer, effective 22 October. Della Sala will take the place of Robert C. Flexon, who has resigned from the position to pursue other interests. An external search to find a permanent Chief Executive Officer is currently underway and until then, Raymond J. Milchovich, the company’s non-executive chairman of the Board and consultant to the company, will provide support for della Sala. Della Sala first started with Foster Wheeler in 1973 as a process engineer. From 1997 to 2000, he served as FWUSA’s vice president and general manager of Latin American operations, president of FW Caribe and finally as commercial director.He was most recently appointed president and Chief Operating Officer of Foster Wheeler in 2007 and will retain that position in addition to his duties as interim CEO until a permanent replacement can be found.
