Vestas Towers in the wind

Vestas Towers Inc announced the opening of their largest wind tower manufacturing facility. Based in Pueblo, Colorado, the plant offers 13 million sq/ft of area and eight miles of on-site railway tracks to be used for shipping materials and completed tower components. At present, the factory employs 400 workers and is capable of generating 1090 towers a year at maximum production. Vestas specifically chooses central locations in the US when building its facilities, allowing the company to build and ship products locally in all directions of North America. Currently, Vestas Towers America, Inc is capable of processing 200,000 tons of steel per annum. Steel fabricators, assemblers, finishers, welders and maintenance personnel have all been hired to aid in the construction of the facility.
