US-based Mate Precision Tooling has released its EasyMark 5-in-1 tooling kit for automating metal component identification during the punching process. The EasyMark tooling kit can be used five different ways for marking and scribing part surfaces. EasyMark is a thick turret application tooling system for use in machines without a bottom stroke forming feature. The tool system can be used with the programming software in a CNC punch press. EasyMark can write numbers, dates and other information on a part using a special marker. This mark can be erased later if required. The tooling kit can also permanently etch the sheet metal surface with its diamond inserts, and cut or scribe protective film on sheet metal surfaces using a supplied brass insert to expose localized areas on the part without damaging underlying metal material. Additionally, it can create cone-shaped indentations on the part surface to locate the part with other components for later assembly, and perform high-speed dot-matrix marking using a supplied carbide insert. The EasyMark kit includes special A-Station guide and canister, marker pen, one brass, one carbide and two diamond inserts, three types of springs for the diamond and brass inserts, roller ball and blank dies.
