US-Based ESAB Cutting Systems has released the Sabre DX heavy-duty precision cutting machine for plasma and oxy-fuel cutting over large working areas. The ESAB Sabre DX has a high-stiffness welded beam assembly with precision linear way guiding system, three-axis rack-and-pinion drives, digital AC drives, and AC brushless motors. The gantry can be equipped with up to eight stations, including up to two plasma stations featuring ESAB’s m3 Precision Plasmarc system that allows the machine to cut and mark with the same plasma torch. Each plasma station includes a vertical lifter with arc voltage height control for accurate cutting and optimal cycle times. A magnetic breakaway crash protection device prevents torch damage in case of tipped parts. The machine reaches traverse speeds up to 35,560mm/min, with positioning accuracy of +/-0.38mm. It is designed for a cutting surface height of 635mm, and is available in cutting widths from 1.9m to 4.4m. The Sabre DX is available with a choice of 200, 360, 450 or 600amp m3 plasma systems.
