Servotube Hygienic motor

Copley Motion Systems, with US headquarters in Canton, Massechuets, US, has announced that it will launch a new high performance direct drive linear motor at the 2009 SPS/IPC/Drives event in Nuremberg on 24 – 26 November 2009. Constructed from austenitic stainless steel, the Servotube Hygienic motor suits applications in demanding industrial environments. Furthermore, the smooth hygienic design is free from dirt traps, so the unit can be used in aseptic environments. The Servotube Hygienic operates from a three-phase 600V supply and provides a digital incremental encoder and commutation output for use with most standard digital servo drives. Available from November 2009, the Servotube Hygienic will be initially available in two models that both offer +/-400micron position accuracy and 25micron repeatability. The XHB3804 and XHB3810 provide 744 and 1860N peak force capability and are capable of speeds of 4.7 and 2.6m per second, respectively. Both models can be water cooled to provide up to 70% extra continuous force for applications requiring high work rates or for use in environments with high ambient temperatures.
