USA: waste treatment plant

EnergySolutions Inc. has been awarded two sub-contracts at the Hanford site waste treatment plant for the support of waste mix testing in Washington. Together these contracts are valued at greater than USD 15 million. EnergySolutions will provide engineering, testing and project management services as a subcontractor at the waste treatment plant. The initial cost plus fixed fee base in phase 1 is for the design and fabrication of the M3 PJM Mix Test Stand which consists of a series of skid mounted valves, pumps, regulators and specialized acrylic vessels designed to demonstrate that simulated waste mixing properties can be achieved. Phases 2 and 3 include waste simulant physical properties testing and scaled hydraulic flume testing in collaboration with Washington State University. EnergySolutions will begin work immediately and complete the project in December of 2009.
