Specialty tubing manufacturer RathGibson Inc. has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection under a heavy debt load. The Lincolnshire-based company began reorganization proceedings in US Bankruptcy Court in Delaware in what it hopes will result in significantly reducing the company’s debt burden. RathGibson reported nearly USD 320 million in debt and assets of USD 305 million as of 20 April 2009. The company makes stainless steel, nickel and titanium tubing for a diverse range of industries.
