US-based Pipe and Valve Technology Institute (PVT) has opened a new training center and is now offering two training modules. The two programs include courses in pipe cutting and weld prep technologies, and valve operation maintenance and vacuum excavation. The Valve Operation Maintenance and Vacuum Excavation courses are designed to provide training in the municipal water systems industries, including field maintenance personnel. The Pipe Cutting and Weld Prep program is designed to provide training for personnel working in power plant maintenance, oil refineries, petrochemical, process piping, high purity, and government/military. Participants will learn to perform machine pipe preparation for all welding disciplines. Machining techniques will include form tool bevel operations and accurate single point machine preparation for automatic welding. Participants will also be exposed to measuring instruments, cutting tool geometries and accessories required to perform weld preparation of pipe and tube.
