Electrodes for welding stainless steel

Arcos Industries LLC, headquartered in Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania, US,  now offers Arcos 312, new bare wire and covered stainless steel electrodes which are designed for welding stainless steels to mild steels and for welding high strength steels that are difficult to weld with ferritic electrodes. Both the bare wire (ER312) and covered (E312) Arcos 312 products are valuable for welding dissimilar joints, especially if one of the base metals is a stainless high in nickel content. The weld deposit is two-phase, high in ferrite. Even with considerable dilution with austenitic forming elements, such as nickel, the microstructure is two-phase and thus highly resistant to weld metal cracks and fissures. The bare wire version is available in diameters from .035in- 3/16in, the covered from 3/32in- 3/16in. Arcos 312 electrodes are utilized for welding applications which include general fabrication, pipelines, pharmaceutical plants, oil and gas facilities and in marine environments.
