Argentina-Based Sidersa Orders Danieli Mida Green Steel Minimill to Compete in Long Products

Argentinian Sidersa will be the first steelmaker to operate a Danieli MIDA QLP-DUE minimill in Latin America. The new minimill will be installed in San Nicolás de los Arroyos, Buenos Aires province.

It will competitively produce 360,000 tpy of quality straight bars in bundles and wirerod. It will also process local scrap into new products, mainly for local construction applications and export.

The new MIDA minimill will operate Danieli-patented technologies like Digimelter (endless scrap charge, Q-One power feeder and Q-Melt process control suite), Digirefiner (LF with Q-One power feeder), a single-strand Octocaster and a rolling mill to produce wirerod, and straight bars finished in a Direct Rolling Bundling station.
