Tenaris has been awarded a contract to provide coating services for the Mero 4 project located in the Campos Basin, Brazil.
With a water depth of 2,100 meters, the Mero field is the third largest in the Pre-Salt region and is operated by a consortium formed by Petrobras in partnership with Shell, TotalEnergies, CNODC, and CNOOC. The project will feature 15 wells connected to the Alexandre de Gusmão FPSO, which has a processing capacity of 180,000 barrels per day.
For Mero 4, Tenaris will apply 81km of thermal insulation coating to risers and flowlines, including TenCoat™ Marine 5LPP Solid and Syntactic. The qualification process will span 2024, with deliveries scheduled for 2025. Once coated, pipes will be transported to Espírito Santo, where the spooling and assembly processes will take place before the offshore installation.
