3D Material Technologies acquired by Aerojet

American rocket and missile propulsion manufacturer, Aerojet Rocketdyne Holdings Inc., has announced it has acquired 3D Material Technologies (3DMT) from ARC Group Worldwide Inc.

A provider of additive manufacturing (AM), 3DMT mainly services the aerospace, defense, medical, and industrial markets, producing functional components in alloys such as titanium, aluminum, Inconel, stainless steel, and cobalt chrome. Specializing in these services, 3DMT will therefore help Aerojet Rocketdyne Holdings develop and produce metal alloy additive manufacturing parts for aerospace propulsion and power systems.

Aerojet Rocketdyne Holdings’ CEO and President Eileen Drake explains how the company is expecting AM to continue playing a major role in lowering costs and production timelines in the future.

3DMT will continue to operate at its facility located in Daytona Beach, Florida.
